Dragon Age quiz
1) How many times have you played DA:O? (“A whole fucking lot” is a valid answer here, if counting becomes difficult.)
A whole fucking lot. (I’m guessing a few hundred hours)
2) What is your favorite Origin to play?
Human Noble.
3) Is there an Origin you haven’t yet played? Why not?
Nope, played all of the Origins at least once.
4) Who is your “canon” Warden? Or your favorite of all the ones you’ve played?
Moira Cousland. Human Noble/Rogue/Dual Wielding/Good girl deluxe.
5) Who is your favorite love interest?
As much as I love Zevran, Alistair will always have a special place in my heart <3 I can’t not fall in love with Alistair every time I play DA:O.
6) Is there a love interest you haven’t yet played? Why not?
Morrigan. I simply have never played as a male Warden before.
7) Who is your favorite non-LI companion?
Shale :3 Or maybe Sten.
8) Out of the main four quests (Redcliffe, Orzammar, Circle of Magi, Dalish elves), which one is your favorite?
Redcliffe!
9) Name three of your favorite male non-companion characters.
Bann Teagan, Ser Gilmore, Tamlen. (Not in any specific order)
10) Name three of your favorite female non-companion characters.
Isabela, Shianni, Flemeth. (Not in any specific order)
11) What is your favorite class (warrior, rogue, mage) to play?
Rogue!
12) Is there a class you haven’t played? Why not?
Warrior, it simply didn’t add anything for me.
13) What is your favorite class specialization? (Assassin? Champion? Spirit Healer? Et cetera …)
Assassin.
14) What is your favorite team of companions to take along with you? Do you keep the same three people all the time, or do you prefer different people for different quests?
It depends on my Warden. Dalish Elf: Zevran/Oghren/Morrigan. Human Noble: Alistair/Wynne/Sten. I usually don’t change them up much, although I sometimes exchange Morrigan and Wynne, and Oghren and Sten are sometimes up for change for Shale.
15) If you could create a team of three non-companion characters to take with you on a quest, who would you choose? (Anyone in the game is fair game!)
Isabela, Ser Gilmore, Flemeth.
16) What is your favorite side quest? (Something not related to any of the main quests.)
Unrest in the Alienage is pretty sick imo.
17) Do you have any particular routines that you stick to when you play? (Doing the quests in a specific order? Always buying/selling your gear at a certain merchant? Collecting every elfroot you see? Completing every single one of the side quests before the Landsmeet? Anything like that?)
Dalish/Mages/Redcliffe/Dwarves. I always unlock the Deft Hands and Persuasion skills before anything. I must do every single side quest. I always make sure my inventory is cleaned up. (Got an item I won’t use? Instantly put it away as “junk” so I can simply “Sell all junk” whenever I’m talking to a merchant) I know exactly what attributes to add points to so I never have the problem of not being able to unlock skills. I must always be able to use any possible “Persuade” option. There’s many more; I have way too many routines when it comes to this game.
18) What moment of the game is most personally satisfying to you - is there something cathartic, something that makes you cheer, something that just feels right no matter what?
Killing Arl Howe. Brings tears to my eyes every time I do a Human Noble playthrough.
19) What brings you back to play DA:O again? What about this particular game makes it fun for you to play multiple times? What do you get out of each subsequent play?
The characters. They feel like actual human beings to me, friends, lovers. I miss them, now that I haven’t played DA:O in a while.
20) If you were trying to convince someone else to play DA:O for the first time, what are the top three points you’d try to sell them on?
1. The Origins make at least six completely different playthroughs. If you’re playing as a City Elf, you’ll actually start to dislike the Human characters. As a Dwarf Noble, you get this real sense of personal involvement for the Orzammar Quest. As a Human Noble, you’ll want to avenge your family and do them proud, carry their name as you save Ferelden.
2. The characters have such depth to them. They have their flaws, all of them, and it makes them realistic. They all have interesting stories to tell, and they’ll judge you for decisions you make during the Quests that they might agree or disagree with. You can be swept off your feet in the Romances, or loathe a character if their morals clash enough with yours.
3. The large amount of sidequests will keep you entertained forever. It will take you so many playthroughs until you figure them all out. It really feels as if you’re walking around in Ferelden, trying to make a difference. (Or not, depending on how you play, hah)
